I found this book difficult to digest because of the writing style. The logic chain is neither deductive nor inductive. The author wanders in a rather spiral fashion, sometimes foreshadowing what is coming, sometimes restating what was already said, and sometimes producing a new thought. Further, lists of key points will be depicted first as a lettered list, then an analogous list will be listed as numbered points in a paragraph.The author wanders from first person writing to narrative style seemingly randomly.While I think there is some decent content buried in the words, one has to work for it. The material could easily have been presented succinctly, with examples, in a third of the words in a much easier to digest style.

The author takes a vicious gratuitous swipe at Obama early in this booklet, undermining his standing to talk about anything. Hard to know if he's just a racist or if his right-wing politics is more important than communicating his ideas.

I made the mistake of reading the book cover to cover. Don't, just start with chapter 5, understand it and then start at page 1 and read it cover to cover, a to z. Chapter 5 will make you aware of your irritations and then it will make you realize that most of the times, you shouldn't be mad at all.The rest of the book will tell you how to learn to manage your irritations in the long run, even when you're tired and had a bad day. The book is short and to the point.

This book sums up the reasons you get angry in 4 points, and likewise 4 reacions/actions you have to this. I felt that the author spent half the book saying over and over that these points are all you need, and how they work, every time, always. It got very repetitive, even if the book is very short. What I miss is examples on how to use these techniques in real life. The author gave two examples of people who got irritated, but didn't go into how they should have used the techniques from the book to help their irritation and anger.

I’ve read a lot of reviews on this book and have concluded that, yes, if you are already aware of some of the thought and action patterns prior to reading this book, then you will look at this book as a “no-brainer“. However, for me being clueless on most of the thought and action patterns to begin with, it was truly refreshing and has provided me with a simple tool in controlling my anger. I already find myself using the anger index card as recommended. I recommend reading this first before anything else. :)

One of the most important issues this book brought to my attention was the fact my anger was a habit. I am 55 years old and dealing with frustration my whole life, never pin pointing what the real cause was, or how to stop the irritability problems.Sometimes I would go to bed in a good mood and before my feet hit the floor I was frustrated! And nothing even happened yet to cause it! And it was always the little things that would really get to me like, when hanging the clothes some hangers would fall off the clothes line, I would get mad and knock more off just for spite, to spite what, the hangers!Now I'm madder because I have to pick them all up. Dropping things, red lights, running out of coffee, my mother calling me, my wife calling me, my misspelling words while typing. This list can go on the whole length of the review. There isn't to much on the short list for not having a reason for me to get angry.But, this book helped change all that. I have had it for a little over a month now, I'm reading a portion of it everyday, when I finish I start it over again, I use the anger index cards as instructed, and most importantly for the first time in using an anger management program, I finally realize this anger habit has been with me my whole life and it's not going to go away over night (which I always expected these results with every program I used) but I can live with that now knowing I'm on the right track to breaking a habit. Doc Orman has taught me I can be released from the bondage of anger, and working this program every day, I am getting results. And one of the results is that if I do start getting angry I don't get all guilty over it like I use to. I am processing my thoughts faster, and getting angry less, and staying angry/frustrated/irritable, a lesser amount of time. The book does work. The only con I have, I wish it came in hard copy. A gem of this kind is one I would like to have as a workbook to highlight in, write notes in it etc..

Almost verbatim, this book is a re-hash of The Art Of True Forgiveness: How To Forgive Anyone For Anything, Anytime You Want (Stress Relief) by the same author. The major differences that I noted were 1) You are an ANGRY person, so quit trying to sugar-coat it with euphemisms like "irritated." Deal with the REAL problem! 2) This book expanded the concepts and proposed that our responses are so engrained that they have literally become a physiological response instead of merely emotional. True. 3) Learn to DISPROVE your "false internal realities", i.e. play devil's advocate against yourself and your defeating thoughts and perceptions! The similarities made for an even faster read, though, and repetition is certainly a good thing! For $3, I can hardly complain!

I see this book is published by the great Mr. T. Corson-Knowles!Good content, good read. I wish there was a link in the book, so I could send a note to the author before writing this review :). I think the intention was there, but it was missing.Feedback- At the end of the book there should be a link to the review, but it is missing.- The cover is something I am perplexed about. What's the connection with this person and being Angry?
