This is a fairly small book (compared to some lavish art books but shows a large number of Escher's works as well as text describing what he himself had to say about his evolution into his unique style and other comments about interesting aspects of his imagery. Truthfully I purchased it hoping to find one particular image of his which I consider wonderful, though it is much less intricate and more realistic than the work he's best known for, and I was happy to find it in a full-page illustration. Great collection of work and commentary at an affordable price.
