I heard Bob Larson back when this book first came out. He was intimately involved in the search for answers to the school shootings throughout the 1980s-1990s. He testified and an expert witness in many of the legal cases in the aftermath of the shootings. The things he discusses in his lectures and this book are the exact same things we are discussing today a few weeks after the tragic school shooting in Newtown, CT December 2012. While that incident was horrific beyond words, America loses track of the 190+ children that were killed in Chicago in 2012 by gunfire as an example simply because it did not happen all at once. Bob Larson traced the roots of this evil not back to the guns as a simplistic scapegoat but to the culture of violence that America has created through the constant barrage of violent movies, TV shows, music, video games (aka simulators as police and military use), magazines and books, etc. Our society is saturated with violence. Is it any wonder those who are not firmly fixed in a solid set of morals and values see other people as "objects" and targets?
I picked this book up at a used library sale with the hope that it would shed some light on the causes of violence in young people that most people tend to look over. Contrary wise, this book was a good 13 steps in the other direction. This book only made me lose more hope in mankind to know that there are still stable adults with this kind of thinking. As I started reading I was a bit turned off at all the mentionings of of his faith and prayer and what not, but I figured I could stick it out through the book. I decided that enough was enough after reading his atrocious thoughts on behalf of Christianity in schools.The situation: Young girls are in trouble for practicing witchcraft in school and then they are told that they've done nothing wrong on account of their freedom to practice their beliefs. Snide Mr. Larson though this would be a great opportunity to say how he thinks this says that [not verbatim] "This shows that as witchcraft and Satanism are allowed, Christianity is being pushed out of schools." What the hell Mr. Larson?! The teachers are not teaching it to them! It is not curriculum! He acts as though people aren't allowed to pray in schools.He also claims that many people kill in the name of Satanism, but what about the large number of people that kill in the name of Christianity? If you add up the number of lives taken from Christian societies and held them up to the Satanic killers, I'm positive the Satanic kill count would be a lot lower. Christianity is not the answer (excuse) to everything.I'm not sure what his warped and heavily twisted version of the world is like, but I pity him. I heavily pity him and I pity mentally stable Christians that are put in the category of "People like Bob Larson." I happy I have the sense to know that not all Christians think this way. Unfortunately there are so many people who waste their time trying to learn from the stack of wasted paper misleadingly named: "Extreme Evil: Kids Killing Kids." A more appropriate name would be: "Extreme Evil: People Like This Author Are Actively Influencing Others!"I feel the world will be better off when more people put time into legitimate help books instead of this pious, paranoia-inducing pile of literary excrement.
I was appalled at the things that were being said in this book, and only in the first couple chapters too! Only one person that was involved in the Columbine massacre was asked about her faith, and she SURVIVED. Bob Larson is just another person who was trying to make the tragedy into something it wasn't...an attack on the Christian faith. If you've done any research into Columbine at all, you would know that the two perpetuators, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, were filled with hatred, not just for Christians and Evangelicals, but for anyone of any race, religion, or sexual orientation. Who they decided to kill was random and sporadic, because when it comes down to it - they hated everyone equally. Their goal was to have the highest death count as possible and inflict massive amounts of pain on the surrounding community. So Bob Larson, why don't you quit with all the bigotry and stop trying to capitalize off a situation that you obviously know nothing about, because all you've done is produced a piece of work that spread hate and lies.
