Most books on aerodynamics cover race cars, that have quite different aerodynamic needs. Existing books that cover road car aerodynamics are primarily university textbooks designed for aerodynamic engineers. In contrast, this book is aimed at the normal car modifier who wants to achieve better aerodynamic outcomes from their road car. Through its use of numerous colour photographs of cars undergoing testing in wind tunnels and on the road, this book is immediately visually accessible. Open it at any page and become fascinated - normally invisible airflow patterns revealed, and the mystery that typically surrounds car aerodynamics dispelled. I just finished reading my copy of the book. Excellent job. This book could be more accurately titled "The Ecomodders Aerodynamic Bible". I have modified my truck for improved gas mileage. Some things worked, some did not. This book told my why some things did not work, and what I have to do make other things work better. The entire book is easily understandable by normal people. One does not need to be an engineer or scientist to understand it and use the information.I now know why my wheel covers did not affect the gas mileage.My air dam also did not affect the gas mileage. I now know how to find out why, and then what to do about it. Full disclosure: The old air dam was made of brittle plastic and was in several pieces held together with Gorilla tape. There should be room for drag reduction.My 100% grille block has never caused overheating, even on a long upgrade at 91 deg F with the AC running. I think I should look further into that also. There's room to further reduce drag, especially in winter.
